Czechs make up 85% and Moravians 14% of the population. The 300,000 Slovaks left in the country after partition now form the largest ethnic minority. Ethnic tensions are minimal, but there is some resentment against Romanian immigrants. A new commercial elite is emerging alongside ex-communist entrepreneurs. Divorce rates are high.
